Picket Line, the soundtrack!

At one point in my life I listed as my dream job: "The person who gets to pick the songs that go into movies." I was not going to miss the opportunity, then, to curate such a soundtrack, this time for my own movie. Okay, okay, it's a book, but books can have musical accompaniment also. In fact it made perfect sense to me, since I approached the story with much cinematic consideration, even imagining at times, as I drew, what kind of music might play perfectly over the scene. Well, we can wonder no more, because now available as a free download is Picket Line, the Soundtrack!

Featuring 17 songs, 7 of which were penned specifically for this project, all of which are awesome (wait, is it weird to say that if I have a song on the mix too?). Each download includes a note from me, a listening guide, and a one chapter preview of Picket Line.  You guys, it's free, and the music is awesome, so check it out.

I can't sing enough praises of the musicians on the compilation. It's been so much fun working with them on this, and they've all generously agreed to give these tracks away, so please if you like anything you hear, try to support them in some way. I've linked to all their websites on the bandcamp page, so you can visit them there, buy music, see shows, or send a little note. I'll also be featuring more about the musicians in the coming weeks, here on Easel Ain't Easy, so check back for that! And of course, if you're interested in reading the book that inspired the soundtrack, it's coming out this August, and available for pre-order now!
